Welcome

Welcome to our latest newsletter.
Our thoughts are with all the all the families and students currently in lock down.
Personally, I'm trying to make the best of having three sporty teenage boys at home. We're in the ACT, so this is early days, but I am acutely aware of the millions of people who have been in lockdown for months now. (Don't forget we have Learning at home and activity tips for parents on our website.)
Parents are again under huge pressure, as are teachers and school leaders who have again had to pivot to online lessons. This is a momentous effort for everyone.
But it is young people who are being impacted most. Please read and share my blog It's time to rethink high stakes Year 12 exams and the ATAR included in this newsletter, because there are things we can do to take the pressure off the class of 2021 and prioritise their wellbeing.
We also include details of a recent UNICEF survey showing parent support for student vaccinations so schools can re-open.
On another note, APC invites you join our webinar this week - How to help your child find vocational education and training opportunities - 7.30pm AEST Thursday August 26 - to mark National Skills Week. It's a chance to look towards bright future possibilities for your teen (even if you are currently in lockdown).
